AWeber today released its AI Landing Page Builder, and it is not measuring the tool against other email marketing platforms. It is measuring it against Lovable, Claude, and ChatGPT, the AI tools people actually use to build things from scratch.

That is an unusual position for an email platform. Most marketing platforms that added AI page builders bolted a conversational layer onto the same rigid template frameworks they have sold for years. The result looks like AI, but underneath it is still a limited grid with a stock library.

AWeber took a different technical path. Its builder generates HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images from scratch for every page.

“We didn’t see other marketing platforms as our competitors. We saw Claude, ChatGPT, and Lovable,” said Chris Vasquez, Chief Product Officer at AWeber. “Our direct competitors were afraid to generate real code because they didn’t understand the technology. We’ve been using and building with LLMs for so long that we knew they were capable of creating quality html, and would only get better. Our pages don’t look like they came from templates, because they didn’t.”

The company discovered how far the approach could go, almost by accident. During development, an informal internal hackathon turned into team members building and sharing playable games with the tool. Pushing it that far beyond landing pages revealed capability the team had not planned for, and the lessons fed back into how it builds everything, including ordinary signup pages.

The bar the team set for output was taste. Anyone who has scrolled a stretch of AI-generated pages knows the pattern. Purple gradients. The same three-column layout. A headline that could belong to any company on earth. Vasquez calls it the “beigeification” of the internet, and it happens because most tools point a model at the whole web and hand back the average.

“Two companies can use the same underlying AI and produce completely different work,” said Sean Cohen, Chief Operating Officer at AWeber. “The difference is whether someone put in the effort to shape real taste, or just shipped the average. That gap is human, and it always will be.”

Cohen rebuilt his own newsletter landing page with the tool before launch. The previous version came from another AI builder and did the job. The new one, from the same basic inputs, reads like it came from a designer with an opinion.

The builder ships alongside AWeber’s AI Signup Form Builder, with an AI email builder arriving this fall. Every page connects directly to email automation. A visitor subscribes on a new page and the welcome sequence starts immediately. Page, list, and follow-up, working together from minute one.

AI Page Builder joins a growing set of AI tools inside the AWeber platform:

– AWeber MCP. Manage your email marketing from within ChatGPT or Claude.

– AI Newsletter Assistant. Drafts your weekly newsletter in your voice, automatically.

– AI Signup Form Builder. Create all types of forms and place them on your live site visually.

– AI image enhancement. Generate and improve any image from a single text prompt.

– Subject Line Generator. Get suggestions based on performance data and email context.

The AI Landing Page Builder is available to AWeber customers now, including on the free plan. See it at aweber.com/ai.
